Onion

Highest onion production and plantation in India comes from Nasik District of Maharashtra. APEDA records a production of 4905 thousand tons onions in Maharashtra alone. This gives exporters an advantage on price and quality selection in turn ensuring importer satisfaction. Onion is the Kharif and Rabi crop. However the Rabi crop during winter i.e. October to March is the Best for Export purposes and the life of the crop is more than the Rubi crop (July – October). Size: 25mm to 60mm or above as per requirement.

Okra

Okra also known as Ladies finger. The harvesting of the crop arrives very fast after sowing of seeds i.e. within 50-60 days. Okra is majorly a summer crop, if it gets a ground temperature of 20℃ or less it adversely affect the crop. Harvesting is best during summer to start of rain.

Green Chilli

Maharashtra produces 15% of total green chilli produce in India. Green Chilli majorly a Rabi crop, harvested during winter season. The demand for Green Chilli across the world as its use an addition for lots of dishes.

Capsicum

This is a cool season crop, temperature below 30℃ is the most suitable for Capsicum. Maharashtra’s weather condition supports the growth of Capsicum in the Nasik reason.

Drum Sticks

This plant grows into a tree from a plant really fast; first yield start in 4 to 6 month after plantation. Usually gives two yields in a year making it one of the most important crops.

Grape

Nasik is very well known of producing Grapes, in fact lots of people from outside the city known Nasik by just the fact that it is famous for grapes and Wine capital of India. India in total produces about 25 lakhs tons of grapes every year with Maharashtra being the top most contributors. Grapes are of various varieties and quality and Nasik is the major front for Exports of grapes in India.

Watermelon

Maharashtra is the second largest producer in India. This crop grows in warm climate but in the winter season hence it is known as the winter crop for summer. This fruit has high demand in the international market, maximum coming from Gulf countries.

Muskmelon

Muskmelon come from the Melon family as well; however muskmelon is a warm fruit. The climate of Maharashtra especially Nasik district is suitable for growing Muskmelons. Nasik being an agricultural hub increases the scope for export of Muskmelon as well.

Strawberry is an important fruit crop of India and its commercial production is possible in temperate and sub-tropical areas of the country. Strawberry has the advantages of easy propagation, early maturity, and high yield with 5-9% sugar.

Banana is the oldest and commonest fruit known to humankind. Maharashtra ranks second in the terms of area and first in terms of productivity in India. Jalgaon district of Maharashtra contributes around 70% of the state's production and more than 11% of the that of India.
